Streaming

Based on the manga of the same name by One Punch Man author ONE, Mob Psycho 100 is a live-action Netflix original about an eighth-grader with psychic powers. As the series progresses he learns to control his psychic powers and live a regular life.

Mob Psycho 100 Season 3 Episode 9, no exception, is a show that is able mix its lighter moments with its dramatic ones. But something terrible is about happen.

In this episode, the titular character, Shigeo Kageyama (or Mob for short), finds his true self again after a trauma from his past. It’s an incredibly satisfying character moment.

Subtitles

Streaming anime titles in English dubs is becoming more and more popular, but some audiences still prefer watching shows in their original Japanese audio with subtitles. This is particularly true for the Mob Psycho 100 series, which has received positive reviews from fans.

The show is about Shigeo Kageyama (aka Mob), a middle-schooler with psychic powers. He tries to control them and only uses them in times of danger.

One, the mangaka who created One Punch Man, launched the series on Ura Sunday in 2012 and Shogakukan Manga ONE in 2013. The series has been released in 16 tankobon volumes and recently won the 62nd Shogakukan Manga Award for the shonen genre.

The series has a strong cast, including Takahiro Sakurai, who voices the main character Arataka Reigen, and Hiroyuki Kagami, who plays Shigeo’s mentor Sho. It’s been reported, however, that the English voice actor of Mob, Kyle McCarley will not be returning due to ongoing labor disputes.

Legality

Mob Psycho 100 has many fans and is one of the most popular animations. Its story follows a character with psychic powers named Mob, and it’s based on the manga by ONE.

The first two seasons have adapted 91 manga chapters, and the third will cover a few additional arcs. It is also expected to continue exploring Mob’s zealous sect.

The success of the show is largely due to its English voice cast. This has recently been questioned.

In September, the voice actor for Shigeo “Mob” Kageyama, Kyle McCarley, announced he would likely not be returning to voice Mob in the dub for season 3 of the show. In a video he posted to his YouTube channel, McCarley explained why he was leaving and shined a spotlight on the uncomfortable reality of how voice actors are paid for their work in anime productions.

Final Words

It’s been six years since we’ve seen Mob Psycho 100 and finally today, the anime has come to an end. In the final episode, Mob finally gets to tell Tsubomi about his psychic abilities, which he has been hiding.

The last few episodes of the anime have been full of zaniness and may have you scratching your head, but the climax to this third season is one you’ll never forget. In the finale, Mob finally comes to terms with his psychic powers and learns how to control them, allowing him to gain confidence.

This release includes a commentary track as well as a feature-length document on the making Psycho, which reveals much about its creation. The commentary is a little dated, but it is still a great source of information.
